Biography of Stephen F. Brown
LT, USN, CHC
Chaplain Stephen Brown grew up in the Los Angeles area. He received his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Mt. Sierra College. Then went on to earn his Masters of Divinity from Talbot School of Theology. As he was studying he served as the Assistant Pastor of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, as well as serving as a Hospital Chaplain at the LA County Hospital.
Chaplain Brown received his endorsement from the National Baptist Convention in 2010 and was commissioned in May 2011. He accepted orders to 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa Japan, where he served as the Battalion Chaplain for 7th Communication Battalion. He supported several humanitarian emergencies and exercises in this AOR including those in Korea, Thailand, Main Land Japan, and several throughout the Philippines. In October 2014 he accepted orders to 3rd Marine Logistics Group, Headquarters Regiment, where he became the Regimental Chaplain. In February 2016 he transferred to Marine Corps Installations Pacific, where he Pastored the Foster Gospel Service, as well as the Protestant Service on Camp Schwab.
Currently Chaplain Brown serves as the Command Chaplain at Marine Corp Air Station Camp Pendleton and the school house Chaplain for the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training. He has been married to his High School sweetheart for the last 15 years, and they have four children.
Currently Chaplain Brown serves as an Installation Chaplain for Marine Corps Base and Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton and CNATT MARUNIT.
